Norseman to Kalgoolie

Well we have finally come to the end of the Nullarbor, and arrived at Norseman.

Went to the IGA pickup supplies, went to BP for fuel but no water either at fuel station or dump point to fill water tank without buying the water.

Left Norseman to stay at Mt Thirsty rest area nice site heap of area to park, plenty of firewood,  trails to walk for fitness. This rest area just passed Lake Cowan a very dry lake, when we went through.

Stayed 2 days and onto Kalgoolie

signs that state RV friendly town but was not quite so. Its rest area mainly self contained only sites totally excluding tents, camper trailers, roof top tents and caravans and campervan with no facilities built in.

Yes there were rangers patrolling the grounds.

Lake Douglas non self contained camp a beautiful rest area but only 3 day max stay. This was a big area which is also patrolled by rangers.

I did some walking the trails at the campsite, found a mountain that they have been mining, photo opportunity.

We bought fuel, food and hardware suppliers in town over $1,000.00  worth was finding it hard to park the truck and camper attached just to go to the post office had to park on a gravel verge outside of Woolworths.

I do think the town of Kalgoolie needs to rethink what RV friendly really means they may drive away tourists who spend money in their town.

There was a lot more to see but due to how difficult it was to stay in the area legally in free campgrounds we felt that we over stayed our welcome and now heading into Menzies where the Gomley sculpture  are at Lake Ballard.
