Travel Freedom Queensland State.

The Premier of Queensland has lifted the non essential travel restrictions and now we can freely move around in the State.

Unfortunately the State boarders are still closed, but it now time to explore once more. We have been camping at Aratula this is a nice bush camp at the hotel area, with Vista views.

Now time to pack down, unfortunately we had rain and lots of days with heavy condensation. I need to pack the canvas away dry.

Finally we are all packed up, through roadworks up over Cunningham Gap and out to Goondiwindi, then up to Condamine.

We setup camp at Caliguel Lagoon, this is a pleasant campsite with water for fishing. We are using a Gazebo enclosed with a tent for our swag, very comfortable.

On awaking the next morning a took some pics of the sunrise.

I also took some pictures of the campground.

Now our journey takes us to Miles, Roma, Mitchell, Morven and up to Augathella. We camped just North  of Augathella but on the trip to there road sign trivia asked what is the rugby teams mascot, well we had no idea but turns out to be a Meat Ant.

They even have a park named Meat Ant Park. Augathella Meat Ant Country”.

The notorious bushranger brothers Patrick and James Kenniff were a part of one of Queensland’s largest manhunt which lasted for thirteen years.
The brothers can be found at the Kenniff tree.

Augathella has Water Tower Art but needs you to go off the main road to view. Bullock team and Emu.

The town, built up gradually came into being initially as a resting place for bullock teams. Three bullock tracks from MorvenTambo, and Charleville.
Augathella, Originally, called Burenda it was renamed Ellangowan this is still the name of the local watering hole and when gazetted in 1883 called Augathella.
Indigenous Australian word meaning "camp on a waterhole", referring the Warrego River.

Our campsite for the night very large a good overnight stop, called Augathella North rest area.

It rained overnight but a very pleasant stay.

Well after packing up it was off to our next adventure in a town called Tambo.
