Onto the Small Town of Sandstone.

After packing down the camper trailer in was onto the town of Sandstone, this town has historical tourist sites one called London Bridge and another called the Brewery there was also the state battery but to us looked more like junk.

London Bridge and the Brewery are sandstone structures with some history. I was talking to a fellow traveler who knows the area well.

He told me that the London Bridge in the early days was known as the devil's arch because of the wild parties under the arch. And the Brewery was stocked with alcohol and the sandstone cave kept everything cool.

The London Bridge basalt weathered structure is believed to be 350 million years old.

The track out there was not clearly marked and google maps had us going down what seemed like a goat track which ended up connecting to the main gravel Heritage Trail track.

London Bridge was definitely worth the look and also had places for picnics and bbqs.

The Brewery also had a steep drive to the site where picnics and bbq's are. The Brewery was a sandstone cave and had a hole in the top of the roof towards the back of the cave where they use to pump water through the hole to the top of the roof to  brewing equipment for the making of alcohol and stored it in the cave.

The Brewery was established to meet the locals need for alcohol in 1907 by an Irishman called J.V Kearney.
