Yule River to Newman Wa.

We stopped overnight at the Yule River next day i was sitting in the reclining chair when i noticed the tyres on the camper trailer. The tyres were worn on the inside of both tyres one down to the steel belt canvas layer.

The wheel alignment out on the camper trailer. So we stayed another day i changed the new spare tire for the one that was down to the steel belt.

I noticed on the mobile phone that the town of Newman had a tryepower service.

So onto Newman, the road is heavily used by roadtrains as mining site all over and they take minerals to the port in Port Hedland.

The road to Newman had rock ranges every where and the road would keep inclining for along way through these ranges.

On the way we saw a rest area call Two Camels rest area from the entrance you drive about 1 klm from the road inland to the rest area. Main roads has done a good job at setting up this rest area. I took some photos to show this site off.

It was early in the day to soon to stop. Next stop the Auski Roadhouse got food but diesel $1.89 l , i will fillup in Newman.

Next stop at the top of a winding road range was a turn off to Albert Tognolini Lookout, this is an amazing place you feel like you are up in the heavens, views of gorges and hills and mountains and you see the road up the ranges.

Photo opportunity again a undercover lookout on the top with pathways leading the way. We met some german tourist up there and had a yarn to them. We explored the rest of the lookout and the rest area attached. There was a wild flower next to the pathway purple took a pic.

Albert Tognolini was a mains road engineer in the 1960 helping to develop road to the Kimberley region.

We were heading to the Mount Robinson rest area to stay the night it was a beautiful rest area with vista views. Got out of the truck taking some pictures when swarms of bees started flying all over the truck.

I jumped back in the truck and moved it to a different location again the bees came to attack they drove us out of the rest area. We found an overnight rest area called Rhodes Ridge rest area basic bush camp site that we stayed in the swag.

Arriving into Newman the next day stopping at the information site what a great place they showed equipment and samples of iron ore and a huge mining haul truck. Photo opportunity.
Jools in the truck barking because he is in there by himself. Now to Tyre Power which was located in the light industrial area, very dusty place as dust storms came through.

They could put new tyres on the camper trailer but not wheel align the trailer they can only do cars. So it looks like it will have to wait till we go to perth.
Now the new tyres on we will be heading south to Meekathara.
