Journey To Bremer Bay, WA - PT 1

After having a few days of rain it finally fines up and this was our cue to pack up the camper trailer and leave Palinup River Nature Reserve.

On the road heading towards Esperance we see a turn off to Bremer Bay lets check it out, about 60klms down the road from the South West Hwy.

The road down was bitumen all the way, farming property with sheep and cows. Some area of timber forest and some really high sand dune mountains boarding the coastline. I tried to pull over to take pictures but the road edges fall off at an angle to the road.
As we were getting closer to Bremer Bay it became very windy blowing the truck around. I said to Gay-maree, with this wind where are the wind generators and as we top the next hill one wind generator standing by it self appeared on the horizon.
Coming into town we were greeted with a welcome sign and the info bay for this area, photo opportunity again.
Bremer Bay is home to 55 species of birdlife that migrate to their Estuary rivers each year. We see a sign to a roadhouse and cafe across the road. Gay-maree went in to get food and we decided to have a picnic down at John Cove picnic area.

Talk about beautiful, from the turquoise blue color of the ocean to the beautiful gardens, beach access and murals on the toilet block, kids playgrounds, wooden tables and chairs, their local council has done a lot of work.

But it always comes back, to that bias view where one member of my family is not allowed and no it is not Gay-maree but our little boy Jools our pet Maltese.

He doesn't understand what he has done wrong and why the councils do not like him. As Jools suffers from separation anxiety we had our picnic in the truck, as it is not fair to leave Jools by himself.
Other than Jools was not allowed to get out of the truck we had a lovely time.

Now Wikicamps state you can drive up to the wind generator area, this has lovely views so we found the gravel road, very steep climb up ontop of the hill we were greeted by a huge and I do mean huge wind generator.

Views of the ocean and inlet to the estuaries.

We climbed up on the metal platform that was attached to the wind generator with swooping blades turning above our heads this is a fun experience.

With selfie stick in hand Gay-maree and myself wanted to get in the picture. Gay-maree even wanted to use my selfie stick as a cricket bat. What a ham! Another photo opportunity again.
Well on the way up the hill, I thought I saw a metal platform that was used as a lookout covered by bush.

We found a narrow track going down the gravel road that led to the lookout platform.

Gay-maree back in the pictures, as she was my model for today illustrating the views from the platform.

You could see the ocean, inlet, Estuary, town and sand dunes. We climbed up the steps of the platform to beautiful views. Photo opportunity again.
