Onto The Town Nannup (stopping place) WA.

We packed up and left Scott's River rest area heading towards the town of Nannup. The road was a forest drive with pine tree forest scattered between National Parks logging trucks carrying timber, from tree cut down.
As we arrived into Nannup we had a welcome sign and information board identifying what is happening in the area.
On entering the town we came across the Marinko Tomas Bicentennial Park a statue of a soldier on display and a playground.
Now to find Foreshore Park where the Nannup Totem Poles are. This is the park where the annual Nannup Music festival is held every labour day long weekend every year.
There is a big stage in the middle of the park with undercover area. The Nannup Totem poles are the first thing you see. There is also Heritage bush walks trails that take you over a bridge walk of the Blackwood River. The Blackwood River was named after Vice-Admiral Sir Henry Blackwood commander to Captain James Stirling who explored the Blackwood River in 1827. Now in 1830 Governor Stirling held a ceremony at the mouth of the river naming it after Sir Henry Blackwood. The Nannup Totem poles project officially opened in 2009. The poles represents past, present and future of Nannup.
The town of Nannup (stopping place) is a special place to the Noongar clan , they are connected to the land, rivers and creeks. There is evidence the clan has occupied the area for the last 50,000 years. The parks where the totem poles stand is called Foreshore Park. We went into the main town centre, as usual had to try and find a parking space down a side street to accommodate the truck and camper trailer. There was a nice park had beautiful flowers and a big red back spider sitting on the grass. Photo opportunity again.
We also took some pictures of the town main street.
The Lions Park, also had early steam hauling logs on wheels.
