Exploring Hopetoun WA.
Hopetoun located on the foreshore of Mary Anne Harbour a great holiday destination and it attracts tourists with its whale watching, dolphins and seals.
Now we are heading South to the town of Hopetoun so we can do some exploring of the area. On entering the town we were greeted with a welcome sign and information board.

Driving down to the man made rock wall "wharf" where boats are launch further out, so the boats can miss the submerged rocks close to shore. Photo opportunity again.

The ocean water so blue in color. As we didn't see any whales or dolphin, we headed down the Southern Ocean road to Two Mile Beach.
Parking, toilets, wooden walk bridge to help going over the sand dune to the beach. No camping allowed in this area.

We travelled further down Southern Ocean road only to find out that the road was close due to recent storms, ? Flooding.
This caused a problem because now I had to make a Uturn on a narrow road. With no where to turn, What to do!
Having to turn around not easy as road to narrow for our big truck and trailer causing me to jack knifing the trailer to get around.
There was nowhere to reverse the trailer back to I would have to reverse about 10klms to the nearest turn around point with on comming traffic, this was not an option.
I actually had to push the truck into shrubs taking both side of the road going off into the shrubs on the other side to get around the edges of the road so soft it was a wonder the truck didn't get bogged lucky for me.
On the way back some lookouts with ocean views. Photo opportunity again. A couple of wind turbines in the distance.

So we had to drive back to Hopetoun, then drive back to Ravensthorpe. Now it is very late in the afternoon, we needneed to find a place to free camp.
Wikicamps a mobile phone app indicated that there was a gravel pit about 30klms out of Munglinup.
So we headed of to find the site. This was unmarked at the road side. A gravel road in, yes very big and would do us for the night.
