Exploring Starvation Bay WA.

Well next morning a beautiful day, we packed up and drove west until the turn off to Starvation Bay. Now heading south the road turns from bitumen to an unsealed gravel road.

The gravel road is in reasonable condition. We make our way to the South Ocean Road, lots of gravel dust all over the camper trailer and truck.

We see the road sign announcing Starvation Bay. We turn in and come to a T section on the left takes you to the caravan park and Campgrounds.
To the right takes you to North Powell Point let's check it out. Heading up a steep hill another turn off to the boat ramp but keep going on you pass the dump point and then you see it. North Powell Point "what a view" fabulous. Photo opportunity again.
Gay-Maree excited to get down the beach track to the rocky coastline. From here the next land mass is the Antarctica.
This is a fantastic place to visit, but now it is time to leave and try to get to Hopetoun along the coast road. As we left Starvation Bay onto the South Ocean Road the road surface turned out to sharp rocks heavily corragated travelling was very slow on this stretch of road.
By the time we got to Mason Bay the road got a lot better.

We went into Mason Bay to checkout the Campgrounds. It is an honor system camping fees apply. There were a few camper there. The view of the bay was obstructed by trees and sand dunes which you have to walk down to the beach access track to view the bay inlet.
After leaving Mason Bay we ran into a road closure sign, it looks like I have to find a detour around the area. It has been 2 months and the road is still closed. Well the blog is getting a bit long, checkout the next blog how we got back to Hopetoun.
