Lake Victoria WOW!
Well now we have packed up we start the trip by leaving Coominglah Range, beautiful views of the range as we descend down the range.
Lake Victoria is truly peaceful and tranquil place to stay this is a dry weather place only otherwise you will get bogged.
I pulled to the side of the road to take some pictures to share of the views as we go down this mountain.
Heading towards the town of Thangool we came across another free campsite called Lawgi Hall. You can camp around the grounds of the hall. The hall is a white building with artwork on the front of the hall looks like boab trees. Took some pics to share. There was undercover tables also.
Next town Biloela, this is a very big town has everything available for most travellers needs. We took the turn off to Rockhampton.
On we went till we came to Dooneys Rd at Smokey Creek, This is where Lake Victoria is, turned into a gravel road and followed it for a few kilometres and came to a gate which we open and proceeded on a black soiled track till we came to the lake.
Black soiled tracks travel around the lake where campsite all around the area. Plenty of firewood, lots of water in the lake, bird life, fish jumping and cows grazing. What a lovely area to be here. Took some pictures to share.
We plan to stay for a few days to catchup on so sleep and relaxation before travelling again.
