Time In Isolation.
Well the Coronavirus is currently effecting my travel plans, I was heading towards the goldfields of Western Australia for some prospecting opportunities.
We also took a drive to Lake Maroon Dam not as busy but people getting into the picnicking spirit. It is a beautiful day for a drive.
It doesn't help that most of Australia borders are closed. It is a pandemic occurrence that Australia has not seen in Australia since the Spanish Flu of 1918.
That was a major pandemic and many people around the world lost their lives too. Well the Coronavirus seem just as aggressive and it is nice that the government has responded so well to look after the people.
Self isolation and social distancing is a small price to pay to reduce the spread of the virus. I fully support it even though there are challenges a head.
Well now living in a camper trailer in bushland setting is already almost isolation any way. It gives us time to catch up on some much needed maintenance and cleaning of our home which is our camper trailer.
One of my big jobs is to clean the canvas tent on the camper trailer. While up North Queensland in the humidity the canvas is now covered with mould, black spot mould to be precise. If I do nothing the black spot mould would eat through the canvas.
I searched the internet for solutions and I tried white vinegar and water which help allot. Most of the black spot went light grey in colour but it didn't kill the mould spores so it just returned. It was very useful when the mould is like fur on the canvas, it will remove that very well. Unfortunately I left it to late and need a better solution.
Curtain Magic a product that dissolves black spot from curtains with out removing them looked interesting. One of the customer, provided feedback to the company that he used it on his camper trailer tent, with great success. I think it is worth a try so I ordered the product I will keep you posted on the results.
Trying a section of the canvas roof I applied the product on by spraying it on. It actually smells like bleach it contains hypochlorite . Leaving it on for 15 minutes it just disappeared, I was very impressed and then I wash it back down with water.
My big concerns was the colour of the canvas bleaching white. This did not happen so I was very impressed. I still have a long way to clean the walls and roof inside and out.
Unfortunately the annexe is fully setup walls and rooms, I am finding it hard to get to all of the roof area while it is setup. I don't want to pull the roof down as the weather bureau has forecast a cold front and rain moving through this weekend.
May need to think out my approach to this project. Here in Queensland the government will start relaxing some of the COVID 19 restrictions on Saturday and allowing us to get out for awhile. Good time to go for a drive only 50klms away from home but that is something different.
Well the cold front just hit this area, with big winds. I decided to setup my wind generator to take advantage of the cold front and it wind to generate some power and it is doing that all right.
The wind has had strong gust blowing over our outdoor stove over and a friend's sat dish and someone lost their gazebo. Yes it has been a bit disruptive. Also the temp is dropping down it has been a very hot day.
Went out for a drive to Lake Moogerah Dam today for a pleasant drive through the country. Lot of people having picnics but still social distancing. I took some pictures while there at Haigh Park.
