While at Herbert Park.

Well we are still camping at Herbert Park on the Yule River, currently dry. Camping here for about 2weeks. It is about 51klms south of Port Hedland.  It has been a busy time for us, while waiting for mail to arrive. We are camped close to the bridge at Yule River.  Port Hedland is a big mining town and the traffic is road trains, and transporting huge mining equipment, over the bridge. These semi trailers carrying these huge mining equipment take up the whole width of the bridge.  Pilot cars and police help with the transportation of the mining equipment to there destination.  We decided to get the trucks 30.000klm service done at Major Motors Port Hedland and they did a good job.  On traveling the outback roads we also picked up a flying stone, from a truck that the windscreen caught, creating a crack about 40 cm long. The crack in the windscreen  was jaggered in shape and length.  So while camping here, the windscreen also got replaced by Avanti a sub of (OBrien Glass) at Port Hedlan

Well it has been blowing a gale upto 60k/h winds for the last 3 days so its time to pack down. This was very difficult due to the wind pushing the canvas all to one side. Went to Karratha as we wanted to obtain a Miners Rights certificate so we can use our metal detector to find all the empty beer cans and fencing wire and even empty gunshot shells and of gold if we are lucky. The town of Karratha is RV friendly from the aspect of parking area for cars and caravans. Dump points are good but drinking water they want you to buy with a token. They do not support free camping area around town and have Ranger patrolling the area. Caravan park there are plenty, this is the main reason why free camps are not supported,  even though us travellers spend lots of money in there town.  After getting supplies we drove northwards to a small town of Roeburne we stop to take some pictures.  Then onwards we went driving and going through allot of fuel as we were driving into a head on wind and my truck

Arrived in Carnarvon busy little town very friendly RV parking.  Went to post office to collect mail parking across road easy access, then to Woolworths for shopping drove in the car park manage to park truck and camper trailer in both areas easily.  Went to information board  to fill water tanks with drinking water well done Carnarvon.   Only gripe they do not support free camping, as we spent over $600.00 in town we could have bypassed the town because they did not support free camping. But they did have 7 caravan parks that has a very big lobbying power.  Free camps are offered from November through to April cyclone season we would get our campsite washed away thanks a lot Carnarvon.  From Carnarvon we started our travels to the north. The landscape lush green and wildflowers and golden wattle as well.  Mountainous ranges and granite outcrops scattered all over the landscape. Huge termite mounds about 2m high scattered over sections of the landscape.  We stopped for lunch at the Nan
